Job: Two RA positions (BSc) for “Bird and butterfly diversity on roof gardens”

NParks’ Centre for Urban Greenery and Ecology (CUGE) are collaborating with Ted Webb on an upcoming project which looks at bird and butterfly diversity on roof gardens. The project is hiring research assistants.

Job scope– Identify bird and butterfly visitors to roof gardens across approximately 32 buildings in Singapore. Study design will be developed with NUS and CUGE. Expected field work in an urban setting, 4-5 days per week, 1.5 years in total. Data collection, data entry and later preliminary data analysis will be required.

Requirements – BSc required. Life Sciences or general sciences degree preferred, but most important is an ability to use binoculars and to learn to identify urban birds and common butterflies of Singapore. Familiarity and experience with collecting basic data will be necessary.

Renumeration – To be advised on enquiry, commensurate with qualifications. There is a possibility of extension beyond 1.5 years, dependent on funding.
