(1) Wildlife Management Research internship

The Wildlife Management Division in the National Parks Board (NParks) manages wildlife in Singapore, and carries out various research projects to better understand them for management purposes. We are currently looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to be part of our team to help out with some of our ongoing projects involving surveying mammals and/or birds. This internship will offer students an opportunity to learn and apply various ecological research techniques, and to draft scientific reports based on the data collected.

 Learning Outcomes:

  • Work in the field environment confidently
  • Carry out ecological research independently
  • Organize, maintain, and analyse ecological data 

Internship duration: End May to early Aug 2024

Special Requirements: Candidates are not required to have any background in ecological research. However, candidates with experience in ecological fieldwork, and are proficient in GIS and R software are preferred.

 (2) Wildlife Management & Outreach Internship

The Wildlife Management Division in the National Parks Board (NParks) manages wildlife in Singapore, and engages the community on human-wildlife coexistence in our City in Nature. We are currently looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to be part of our team to help out with some of our ongoing projects. This internship will offer students an opportunity to learn and participate in day-to-day operations, outreach engagements, and to analyse operational data collected to guide future management decisions.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Carry out outreach engagements independently
  • Organize, maintain, and analyse operational data
  • Work in the field environment confidently

Internship duration: End May to early Aug 2024

Special Requirements: Candidates are not required to have any background in ecological research. However, candidates with experience in outreach, and are proficient in GIS and R software are preferred.
